Self Motivation - Helping others can make you feel good, but did you know it can actually be good for your health?

The feeling of importance, brought about by compliments and appreciation, is good for your physical health, as well as your mental well-being. That is why most self motivation and personal development courses preach the importance of doing good for others. The reciprocal appreciation you recieve will actually make you a healthier person.

Self Motivation : How to Get What You Want from Anyone You Meet

Self Motivation - People interact with each other on a daily basis, and most times this is because one person needs something from the other. Getting others to do what you want them to do is simple, when you know how to do it.

In the business world, for example, you may have a product or service to sell while the other person is looking for such a product. To sell your product or service to them, you will have to convince the other person that he will be satisfied with the services you render according to his needs. In other words, the way to get anybody to do what you want is to make them want to do it.

Trying to get what you want through intimidation or force is asking for trouble. Yes, it’s possible but not advisable to use forceful methods, because the results are short term and can even be disastrous.

So how do you get others to do what you want? Simple. Give them what they want. And what is is that people want? Good health, love, and financial security are the basic desires of people.

But there is one important, yet intangible, thing everybody wants more than anything else, and that is to be appreciated. Being appreciated and complimented makes a person feel important. When you feel important, you feel needed and wanted, and this gives you a reason for existing.

So, how do you make someone else feel important? Tell them. Show them. Give appreciation freely, honestly, and without reservation. Saying how appreciative you are for a favor received or a job well done, will make the other person feel important and respected. You may not be able to describe in words how being appreciated makes you feel when you’re the recipient, but you know that what you the other person feels is real and priceless.

To get what you want, show the other person that - if he does what you want him to do - it will, in turn, make him feel important. Let’s take charity for example. You want a contribution from a prospective donor. Even before the act of giving itself, the donor expects some from of appreciation from you and this, in turn, will give him a feeling of importance.

But appreciation doesn't necessarily have to be expressed in words. A smile and a handshake could be sufficient, and they can come from both you and the donor. The donor shows his feeling of being appreciated, while you show your appreciation for the contribution. A chemistry takes place. It’s a feeling both parties would enjoy happening many times over.

So, to get others to do what you want them to, you must give them something first. Make them feel special, important and appreciated. But, be aware, your feelings must be genuine. You must truly appreciate the person as a fellow human being, and not just because they are doing something for you.

If you can truly feel that the person you are interacting with is important and worthy, and can convey those feelings to that person, you will get them to do what you want them to, and they will feel good about doing it for you.

Self Motivation: Boost your Life with Subliminal Messages

Self Motivation - The U.S. Government banned them on TV and radio in 1974. They were once famously used to boost sales of popcorn by almost 60%. And today, they’re the subject of numerous Derren Brown-style "mind" shows airing throughout the globe.

I’m talking, of course, about subliminal messages.

However despite all the media hype, subliminal messages aren’t just used by advertising moguls trying to get us to buy another can of coke. They can also be employed to make serious and lasting change in our own lives.

In this short article, I’m going to share a method you can use to get subliminal messages working for you-starting tonight!

But before we begin, let’s ask ourselves: what exactly are subliminal messages?

Subliminal is defined as "below the threshold of consciousness". Subliminal messaging refers to the act of sending messages direct to the powerful subconscious mind, the part of your brain that controls everything from memory to body temperature to providing your conscious mind with its core traits.

The most famous experiment in subliminal messaging history was conducted by pioneer Dr James Vicary, who flashed the words "I want popcorn" and "Drink more coke" in front of a movie audience for just 100-milliseconds. Nobody officially "saw" the messages-they were below the threshold of consciousness-yet popcorn sales shot up 57.8% and coke sales increased 18.1%.


The U.S. Government soon outlawed this powerful suggestion technique in advertising, yet its potential as a revolutionary self-help tool was soon realized. The power to send self-improvement commands direct to the subconscious mind was suddenly available to the masses.

But how? There are two primary ways you can actually "send" subliminal messages. Visually, such as using the latest Subliminal Power software program to flash messages around your computer screen as you work. Or, less effectively, using sound, such as with the subliminal CDs you can order online at sites such as Subliminal-Audio (www.subliminal-audio.com ).
Yet if your budget is low, there’s an even cheaper way to begin putting the power of subliminal messaging to work for you!

Here’s how. Begin by identifying a couple of core goals you’d like to concentrate on in your life right now. For example, you may wish to learn faster or quit smoking. Then, write that goal down as a simple, short, positive affirmation.

For example, "I am a quick learner" or "I am ready to quit smoking". Other examples include "I invest wisely", "My reading speed increases every day", or "I am now more confident".
Be careful: do not use negative terms, such as "Not" or "Don’t" in your message. The subconscious does not understand such words in context and would read "I don’t gain weight" as "I gain weight". You have been warned.

Now write your affirmation, clearly and in thick black marker pen, onto a sheet of white cardboard. Create three-or-so cards, each with affirmations focusing on your core theme, and store them next to your bed with a flashlight.

Next comes the unsociable part!

We’re going to catch your mind in a highly receptive state, by waking it up in the middle of the night, when the door to your subconscious is wide open.

Set your alarm clock for 3am, then go to sleep as normal. As soon as you hear the ring, turn off the alarm and-almost instinctively-pick up the affirmation cards and your flashlight. The room should be pitch black.

Next, flick the flashlight on and off very quickly a dozen times over each affirmation card. While doing this, stare at the cards. Do not consciously try to make out the words. These subliminal messages are for the subconscious.

When you’re done, simply turn off the flashlight, put down the cards and return to sleep. It will take just two minutes of your time and I guarantee you’ll fall straight back into deep and restful slumber.

That’s it: you’ve just "sent" a bundle of subliminal messages straight to your subconscious. What follows is exciting!

After the first few nights of using this technique, most individuals report problem-solving dreams that assist in their goals or influence their decisions. Just a week later and practically all participants note a serious movement toward their core goal. Their leaning speed improves dramatically. Their nicotine addiction is cut in half.

As the change comes from within, it isn’t always obvious. Yet a few weeks down the line, most individuals sit back and realize just how far they’ve progressed without consciously realizing it. Soon, your goals have been achieved... the messages worked. When ready, you can move onto your next set of goals by simply writing out a new set of affirmation cards.

It’s a very simple system, yet remains highly powerful and terribly underused.

Most people reading this article won’t try this straightforward experiment. Maybe they just don’t believe it will work, or maybe they view it as being altogether too much hassle.
It’s inconvenient, certainly-perhaps not as user-friendly as a piece of modern subliminal software. But you think it doesn’t work? Then try it for a week, and see for yourself. Tiger Woods, Steven Speilberg, New Scientist magazine, even the U.S. Government all know the power behind subliminal messaging.

And if you don’t, maybe it’s about time you caught up.

Self Motivation: 5 Simple Yet Highly Effective Ways To Combat Low Self Esteem

Self Motivation - Do you suffer from low self esteem? If you see yourself as a failure who can't get an even break, then chances are you do. Low self esteem is one of the biggest enemies of success, because it will suck up any self motivation you can mange to muster in no time.

If you want to be successful and get everything you can from life, you must get rid of your low self esteem. Here's five simple, yet highly effective, ways to do just that:

1.) Don't try to be perfect. Perfectionism is a good way to make yourself have low self esteem, because each time you fall short of being perfect (which is everytime) you will see yourself as a failure. Just remember that no one is perfect and all you can hope for is your personal best. Keep learning, strive harder each time you set out to accomplish a goal, work on your self motivation techniques and raise the bar just a little more each time. But trying to be perfect is just going to lead you to dissapointment and discouragement.

2.) Don't single out the bad moments. Why does everything have to always be either good or bad? Why can't it just be? Don't let one or two bad events during the course of your day make it a "bad day" for you. Don't forget the good things that happen and dwell on the bad, because that will make you feel as if nothing good ever happens to you, then you will start thinking you don't deserve anything good. Just take the good with the bad and remember that even the darkest day only lasts a day.

3.) Don't feel guilty for what someone else feels. Your spouse, a co-worker or someone else you're close to is having a bad day and get short with you, and immediately you start wondering what you did wrong. If you can't pinpoint some exact thing you did to upset the other person, chances are they are simply in a bad place and want to take it out on you. Don't let yourself feel responsible for their feelings. Just let them be where they're at for the moment, even if it means walking away from them until they're in a better mood. But whatever you do, don't allow yourself to feel as if you did something wrong simply because the other person is in a bad place.

4.) Learn to accept compliments. If someone compliments you on what you're wearing or a good job you did, accept it and go on. Don't try to argue with them about it. Sometimes it's enoigh just to say "thank you" and go on.

5.) Allow others to get close to you. Close friendships are bonds that can break through any feelings of low self esteem and help to build your self motivation. Choose friends who are also motivated and positive people and you cen be there as a support group for one another. JUst remember not to take without giving. For it to be a beneficial relationship you must be there for your friend also.

Well there you have it. Five simple, yet highly effective, ways to combat low self esteem. Work on these five ways daily to build your self motivation.

Self Motivation: What Is Your Passion?

Self Motivation - Do you know what you really want out of life? Most people go through their wholw lives not knowing what it is they want. They waste the best years of their lives stuck in a dead end job that they hate, because they lack self motivation and don't know that they can have anything any better. Are you one of these living zombies?

What do you really want in life? Moat people struggle in answering that question. When asked what they want or what their goals in life are, many are unsure. They are noncommittal in their answers, hardly giving any thought about what they want in life. People without definite goals are letting time pass them by. Don't be one of these people.

If you are undecided about what you want out of life, don't worry. There are many ways of discovering your passion. To discover what you want in life, try looking deep into your heart. Often, people are ruled by logic. They live their lives according to what they think they should be or by what others want them to be. The discovery process is the perfect time to listen to your heart. What your heart desires comes from the depths of your true self.

What your heart says usually feels right. What your heart desires is what you usually love to do and this represents your passion. Anything done with passion is like play where the task is accomplished without relunctance. You do your very best and feel no pressure or resistance.

You will totally enjoy doing things that are your passion. Setbacks, difficulties, and obstacles will make it more challenging, but should not deter you from pursuing your goals. Naturally, there may be barriers that may prevent you from reaching your goal, but your heart’s desire will find ways to overcome these barriers so that you may ultimately get what you want in life. Remember this: the universe supports people who are pursuing their passion and those who are pursuing their destiny. The universe supports those who are ;ed by self motivation, because the whole concept of the universe is based on self motivation.

However, this does not mean that you don’t also need to use your head. You were born with both a mind and a heart. Your duty is to live the best life you possibly can and be in harmony with your mind and heart. The poet Rumi wisely said, "Live completely in the head and you cannot feel the breath and rhythm of life. Live completely in the heart and you may find yourself acting like a love-struck fool with poor judgment and discipline. It’s all a fine balance - the head and heart must forge a lifetime partnership if one wants to live a beautiful life."

Listen to your instinct. Part of human nature is the mysterious and spontaneous reaction to things. Often times, this is called instincts. Your true self communicates with you and guides you through instinct. Instincts are those gentle nudges that urge you to act and follow a certain path. Your role is to listen attentively and to follow them to the best of your ability.

Often, we listen to what others say and allow them to run our lives. Parents often do this to their children. "We come from a family of doctors, so my son must also be a doctor." How often do we hear this from parents who have good intentions for their children? Many parents unconsciously block the true expression of their child’s real self and calling. Friends and critics will discourage you and point out the impossibility of your dream. Before heeding their advice, evaluate the accomplishments of the critics. Did they achieve their dreams? Do they dream big at all?

Remember, it is your destiny that is in line, not theirs. It doesn’t mean, though, that you will not listen to what other people say. Hear them out just the same. But the final decision should be yours. There is only thing to remember: every person, to be truly happy and enjoy life, must define how he wants to live and what his passion is. Listen to your instincts and follow your heart’s desire, and you will find your passion.

Self Motivation: 4 Powerful Yet Simple Ways To Stay Motivated

Self Motivation - Staying motivated when things get difficult can be really hard at times, can't it? Of course there will be times when you just want to call it "quits" because you can't see any good results from all the hard work you've put in. Well, don't worry about it, because that is a perfectly natural way to feel. The problem comes in when you act on those feelings and give up before you realize your dream.

Just remember that setbacks will happen, they are a part of being successful. You have never truly failed until you abandon your vision and give up on your dreams. But what about when you're really exhausted physically, mentally, and - most of all - emotionally? How can you keep your self motivation when all you really want to do is just give up?

Here are four simple, yet powerful, ways to stay motivated long enough to accomplish your goals:

1) Allow Yourself To Feel As If You Have Already Attained Your Goal

How would you feel after accomplishing your goal? Of course you will feel ecstatic. You might be shedding tears of joy. Let this tremendous feeling sink in and encourage you to persist despite all odds. Think of how you will feel about yourself. How others will feel about you. How life will seem once you have attained your goal. Let yourself feel all these feelings, as if you have already achieved your dream and it will become real to you, then it will be a simple process to keep your motivaion up.

2) The Reward System

How would you feel if you've entered a contest and made it all the way to the finnish line, only to find there were no prizes for the winners? pretty discouraged, huh? Well, the same principles should apply to reaching your vision. Reward yourself after accomplishing each goal. Set a particular incentive to reward yourself with for every objective you attain.

For instance, let's say that after you've achieved a particular task, you'll treat yourself to dinner at your favorite restaurant. Then, when you've finished a bigger task, you'll go on a vacation. Just set something gratifying to indulge in after completing a certain goal, and you will be able to keep your motivation.

3) Utilize The Power Of A Mastermind Group

If you want to succeed, surround yourself with other motivated, positive people who will support and encourage you in achieving your goals. Stick with thosee who have the same general beliefs and aspirations as yours. Positive action is generated by this fusion of
collective energy from people of "like minds."

Likewise, hanging around people who are negative and oppose your way of thinking may trigger a negative, yet just as powerful, kind of self motivation. For instance, has anyone ever said to you that "You'll never get anywhere", or "You're wasting your time doing that?" Over time, did you not start thinking those same things about yourself? Stay away from negative people if you want to succeed, and hang with the winners.

4) Take Care Of Yourself

Make sure you get plenty of sleep, eat properly and take regular breaks throughout the day. These things may sound pretty routine, but sometimes you can get caught up in the process of chasing your dreams you can forget the most important thing -taking care of yourself. Having the will power to continue despite any hardships you may face is important, but you should still know your limits.

If you don't get enough rest, you won't be able to think clearly and you will nwon't t be able to do your tasks properly. Allowing yourself to get too tired will also bring your motivation level down, and in the process, you will just get more frustrated. Never ignore your health. It's not worth it. Success will mean nothing if you don't have the good health to enjoy it.

Use these four points to keep yourself going when times get rough, keep your self motivation high and don't give up before realizing your dreams.

Self Motivation: Self Improvement or Self Empowerment?

Self Motivation - Self improvement is to me a really hard term to use, because the effects of most self improvement and personal development programs are usually very fleeting. Now don't get me wrong, I think self improvement programs and self help books are great. After all, that was my first introduction to self motivation and personal growth.

But I noticed that everything I learned from the self improvement books and programs and applied to my life, no matter how well it worked for awhile, eventually would quit working for me. I couldn't figure it out. I began thinking maybe it just wouldn't work for me. After all, I saw others who were using the same programs, books audios and other tools that I was using, and they were getting awesome results. Yet, they would seem to work for me for awhile, then I would go back into the old "failure" mode that had become so familiar to me.

Then, I discovered manifestation, and my self improvement puzzle found it's missing piece. However, I saw manifestation different than what most people see it as. They think it's like having a magic genie, you make your wish and poof, what you want magically appears.

However, I saw manifestation as something more. Self improvement makes me feel better. Manifestation empowers me. With the two working together in my life, anything is truly possible.

In future postings I will be discussing manifestation and self empowerment, as well as self improvement and personal developement, because to me, they are each important in their own way, but need to be applied together in order to truly unleash their power in your life.
